Puppy Kindergarten: Extended Board-and-Train Program
All Selah Mountain puppies receive early developmental work before they are ready to go home. For families who would like additional support, we also offer an optional Puppy Kindergarten board-and-train program exclusively for Selah Mountain puppies.
Puppy Kindergarten begins after your puppy turns 8 weeks old. Your puppy remains with us for additional age-appropriate training before joining your family.
What Does Puppy Kindergarten Include?
The program focuses on helping young puppies build practical skills and a strong foundation for life in their new homes. Training may include:
- Crate training
- Potty training
- Socialization with people and other dogs
- Recall
- Manding and appropriate ways to ask for attention
- Foundational obedience commands such as sit, stay, down, and release
- Leash skills
- Bite inhibition
- Puppy self-regulation
- Continued confidence-building and exposure
What Should Families Expect?
Puppy Kindergarten provides an early foundation rather than a fully trained adult dog. Young puppies are still developing, and continued structure, practice, and consistency at home are important for maintaining their progress.
Your puppy’s progress will depend on their age, individual temperament, and length of stay. Families who enroll should plan for a later individual go-home date based on the number of training weeks selected.
Pricing and Scheduling
Puppy Kindergarten is $500 per week and is separate from the puppy purchase price.
We generally recommend at least two weeks for families who want to see meaningful progress, although the length of your puppy’s stay is entirely up to you. Daily rates may also be available upon request.
Space is limited so that we can give each puppy appropriate individual attention. If you are interested in enrolling your puppy, please let us know as early as possible.
